Agriculture Cost Share Program - Division of Soil and Water Conservation Financial incentives are provided through North Carolina's Agriculture Cost Share Program. This program is administered by the Division of Soil and Water Conservation (Division) in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The Cost Share program was authorized in 1983 as a pilot program. Air Quality - Mobile Source Emissions Reduction Grants Purpose: to achieve actual reductions from on- and off- road mobile source related emissions in North Carolina to assist the State in maintaining the National Air Quality Standards for primarily ozone and carbon monoxide. Clean Water Management Trust Fund CWMTF will fund projects that (1) enhance or restore degraded waters, (2) protect unpolluted waters, and/or (3) contribute toward a network of riparian buffers and greenways for environmental, educational, and recreational benefits. http://www.cwmtf.net/
Coastal Management Grants The Division of Coastal Management awards grants in three areas: land use plan development and implementation; public waterfront access; and pumpout installation. Farmland Preservation Trust Fund -Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA) NCDA contracted with The Conservation Trust for North Carolina (CTNC) to accept farmland easement applications, and to administer state-appropriated funds. http://www.enr.state.nc.us/DSWC/files/ncfpp.htm
Farmers, Ranchers, and Eligible Civic Groups involved in Resource Planning Management Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) A voluntary program whereby eligible candidates who own or control land on which crops or livestock are produced in an identified priority area or have a State identified priority natural resource concern develop a conservation plan to manage one's valuable natural resources. http://www.nc.nrcs.usda.gov/Programs/eqip.htm
Mining Education Fund, Division of Land Resources, Land Quality Section The Mining Commission's Education committee reviews and selects mining education proposals for funding. The Mining Commission then approves the committee's recommendations. The monetary awards are specifically for educational purposes and tend to be given to teachers or people involved with public education. Septic Systems Repairing or Replacing Grants and/or Loans Grants and/or loans may be available to individuals and agencies for assistance in repairing or replacing inadequate wastewater treatment systems (both septic and straight-pipe systems). Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program - Division of Forest Resources Grants are available to local or state government, educational institutions, non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations and other tax-exempt organizations. Waste Reduction Grants - Division of Pollution Prevention Grants are to reduce the flow of waste (i.e., organics, construction and demolition debris, electronics, paper, etc.) to North Carolina disposal facilities. Wastewater System Expansion and Improvements - Division of Water Quality Construction Grants and Loans Section The section administers two major programs that assist local governments, the federally funded Clean Water SRF Program (State Revolving Fund) and the NC Clean Water Revolving Loan and Grant Program. Water Quality Planning and Protection - Division of Water Quality Water Quality Section 205j Grant Program The Clean Water Act - Section 205(j) allows EPA to provide funds to states (such as NC) that distribute the money to eligible candidates (i.e., governments and nonprofit organizations) in a competitive process for water quality management planning. The Division prefers potential projects that deal with long-term growth management, impaired waters restoration, and public education. Water Resources Grants Division of Water Resources This program is designed to provide cost-share grants and technical assistance to local governments throughout the State.
